A.R.C-A-Departments & Activities

Refinery Main Departments & Thier Activities:

1) Operation Department:-

      A) Receive of crude - storage and processing.
      B) Perform blending activities in coordination with Production dept. preparation
          of products for export.
      C) Issue of certificate of quality and quantity.

2) Production Department:-

      A) Contact with clients and perform processing agreements.
      B) Plans crude arrival, blending and delivery of products.
          Scheduling of refinery operation.
      C) Follow up of oil movements, consumption of utilities etc.

3) Technical Services Department:-

      A) Follow up of refinery units operation.
      B) Perform test runs.
      C) Performs preliminary studies.
      D) Trouble shooting of technical problems.
      E) Provides services/advises to other departments with regard to technical matters.

4) Power Department:-
      A) Operates the power station.
      B) Maintains/repairs electrical and telecommunications equipments.
      C) Provides electrical services/repairs to all refinery units, off sites,
          buildings, housing, hospital etc.
      D) Supply refinery units with the utilities such as steam, air, cooling water.

5) Maintenance Department:-
      A) Perform maintenance/repairs to all refinery equipment (except electrical).
      B) Performs maintenance/repairs to off sites, building, houses, etc.
      C) Deal with refinery requirement for spare parts and new equipment.

6) Plant Inspection Department:-
      A) Perform inspection of all major refinery and other off sites equipments such as
          columns, heaters, vessels, tanks etc. rotating equipments and instruments
          are not within its duties.
      B) Provide recommendations for repairs/replacement.
      C) Ensures that work is done as per standards.

7) Stores Departments:-
       A) Takes care for the provision of all spare parts and chemicals.
       B) Preserves all items.
       C) Makes contacts with internal and external suppliers of items.

8) Accounts Departments:- This department deals with any activity where
    money is to be spent or received.
        A) Processing agreements.
        B) Salaries of employees.
        C)Deals with activities of insurance etc..

9) Development and Services Department:-
        A) Provides services to refinery departments.
        B) Follow up of special sanction work.
        C) Follow up of small and big projects.

10) Marine Department:-
        A) Takes care of vessels arriving/departuring ARC jetties.
        B) Makes arrangement for owned vessels (Gna, Al-masila & Bab Aden).
        C) Arranges rent of other vessels for certain activities.
        D) Maintains/operates tugs.

11) Fire and Safety :-
        A) Takes care of the safety of the refinery and off sites.
        B) Operates refinery fire system, fire equipment and fire fleet.
        C) Issues work permits.
        D) Monitor safety aspects of works. Note: fire & Safety department is related to
            Operation Department .

12)Security Department:- Controls inlets/outlets of personnel and equipments to and
from the refinery, off sites, etc.

13) MIS Department:- The MIS department consists of these three main section:

1. Information Technology.
2. IT Telecom.
3. Statistics Units.

14) Other Departments:-

1- Medical Division.

2- Training Department.

3- Public Relation Department.

4- Employment Department.

5- Aden Bunkering Department.
